 1am - 3am Reviewed
We're Back!
We discuss everything including,
Dana flirting with Arlo, Kiefer’s receding wig, Kayla being very wet, Markos’ mother cleaning up her son with a mop, Darth Vader, and possibly the worst realtime continuity error in the history of 24?

 Re: 1am - 3am Reviewed
Good work as usual guys. Enjoyed your thought about the error. Was surprised that neither of you mentioned that this was simply the worst episode in a good 2 years (since we were left wondering about Jack's love child in Day 6). I will have to start fast forwarding 24 if they push another garbage episode out again. I am very disappointed and I hope they figured out this was completely unacceptable.
-Chloe is the smartest out of left field? Did I miss her fast tracked expect training class? Wasn't she completely behind like 4 hours ago?
-Cole is acting like a tool. A true director of fields ops does not have time to clean up his girl's mess during a nuclear threat. Sorry Cole, -2 points this week.
-The kid and his mom? What? I almost fell asleep knowing how completely irrelevant this plot thread was. Not to mention the bad acting. I love these intense scenes, but there needs to be people in the scene that we care about to make it intense. I hoped the kid and his mom were both going to be blown up.
-Jack's empty threat. A, I don't believe for a second that an islamic fundamentalist extremist would have been talked out of his Jihad by Jack through a video camera. B, Jack's threat was empty and he would have never killed that woman, nor made her cleanup her son's 'mess'.
-Stephen Root on 24? Um, why? Get out of my life. What a terrible choice that I could not help but laugh at.

 Re: 1am - 3am Reviewed
I think you're being a bit hard on the episode Brooks.
First the real time error, you're forgetting one thing, the start of the episode isn't immediately after the end of the last, it's about 2min - They've done it before they pretty much let some time elapse during the "Previously on 24"
Yeah, Chloe being the smartest was a bit left field but I saw it as more of a management role, which she proved at the start she is capable, what she was behind in at the beginning she didn't do much of.
Cole being a tool, well that whole Dana side story is pointless so when he got dragged in he was going to have to do something annoying. What annoyed me is after finally finishing that stupid story they had to start it back up again.
The kid and his mom - I think irrelevant is the wrong word, it was important to the overall terrorist threat story arc, the Dana story is irrelevant. It didn't annoy me like it did you, but to each their own.
Jack's empty threat - I don't think it was completely empty, if doing it would stop the bomb he would (Sander's daughter in Season 3), of course since he would have already been dead, I don't think he would have. Still I completely believed that he believed Jack would do it. I didn't like the line "You wouldn't do it, you're a federal agent". It sounded to me like he was saying "You wouldn't do it, you're one of the good guys".
Stephen Root, as I said before stupid story going nowhere. But I also thought he wasn't really a parol officer.
The thing that annoyed me the most was that he had to see her now, it's a problem with the real time format that there are some things you can't do. And having to stop working on a terrorist threat in the middle of the night to help someone find a low level criminal I couldn't believe for a second.

The previously bit is screened and then after 'Jack' states the following takes place between 2am-3am (not 2:04am) or anything else. If you look back at other episodes for example 3 & 4 of this season, the car blows up at the end of episode 3 and the start of 4 is straight after. But I agree with the rest and think Brooks was a too hard on this episode.

 Re: 1am - 3am Reviewed
I can kinda see where Brooks is coming from but I do think it was a touch harsh.
On the whole I am disapointed with this season of 24....there have been a couple of great bits but on the whole its not getting me excited.
For the first time ever I was not actually bothered about watching 24 at 9pm.....I preffered to finish what I was watching before and then watched it about 10.30pm.
I really hope the show picks up soon as I am desperate to see some proper action again!

 Re: 1am - 3am Reviewed
I thought that this episode was better then the previous one. It is a change of pace, as we've heard in the interviews there has been 192 previous hours of 24, compare that to approx 15 hours of Star Wars and look how some of those turned out.
24 is still one of the best things on TV.

 Re: 1am - 3am Reviewed
I am confused as to the reason they completely gutted the show of people we care about crossing the line. Or for that matter, anyone crossing the line. Are they reflecting on American politics lol? This is what made 24 the edgy show that is once was and I hope it still can be.
CTU management, the presidents, Jack, their inner circles all used to get blood on their hands in the process of saving the country. It was always about good people doing bad things, or people walking through morally gray areas for the good of the country.
Now we have Cole, Dana, Brian, Arlo and Magic Chloe? I know I am not the only one who thinks this is paper thin.
When did 24 lose it's balls? How many times has Jack given someone immunity this season? Isn't it like 3 or 4 already? These characters are so weak compared to the characters who once ran this show. More people should be talking about the fact that Jack punching some CTU clowns is the most extreme thing he has done by hour 12. Renee has been the saving grace of this season, hands down. Jack making false threats holds no water when he used to just threaten and produce. Now the writers seem intent on appeasing everyone who watches the show I guess?
I have the best interest of the show in mind when I point out these areas I am concerned with, but why should I think it will get better?

Suggestion for the show: In season 6 you introduced the Countdown to President Logan dies (I can't remember exactly what it was called). I think you need to bring it back for Owen.
Edit: also Dana. Owen's pathetic but Dana's annoying.
